Over the past years, more than 400 senior supply chain managers have joined us for McKinsey Supply Chain Executive Academy to discuss current supply chain topics and learn about our latest thinking on the subject. Feedback from former academy participants has been overwhelmingly positive. We are offering two sessions each year: one in October focused on "Transforming into digital supply chains" and one in May focused on "Supply chain excellence in planning and execution."
Our 13th McKinsey Supply Chain Executive Academy will take place in MCC Munich from October 12 to 13, 2017. This year, we will also launch the first session in DCC Chicago from October 19 to 20, 2017.
Significant developments in supply chain planning and execution have been made recently, which are changing the ways we need to think about the supply chain, enabling a large performance boost. “Digital Supply Chain” or “Supply Chain 4.0” are hot topics throughout all industries and will likely determine the next SC champions. However, many companies are struggling with creating a sustainable step change in their supply chains leveraging these new SC4.0/digital supply chain approaches. How to reach this is challenging for companies as it involves not only the highly technical solution, but also transforming the company into a digital supply chain. The session in this October will focus on how to make it happen.
During the Academy, we will introduce a balanced mix of case studies and presentations on the newest developments and offer collaborative discussions with McKinsey experts on today's most important supply chain topics. You will also experience the transformational power of startups and learn how to instill digital techniques into your business. You will have plenty of opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with other senior supply chain executives from leading global companies as well as with “digital natives”.
